Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Job Summary

  • Serves as the lead compensation point of contact for assigned client groups.
  • Develops a deep business understanding of the client groups supported including the business model and strategy, talent objectives and compensation market practices.
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and administration of competitive compensation programs that support the organization's philosophy and business needs, while ensuring wage and hour compliance.
  • Conducts market research, monitors compensation trends and pro-actively identifies and addresses compensation issues in the business.
  • Guides client groups/colleagues in the interpretation and administration of the organization's compensation programs and policies for optimal support of the talent objectives of the business.
  • Researches compensation concerns raised by client groups/colleagues and recommends resolution on issues.

Essential Job Functions

  • As a relationship-based role, develops and maintains effective, professional and consultative relationships with assigned client groups/colleagues.
  • Serves as a positive change agent to improve the organization’s competitive edge, analyzes compensation problems and recommends solutions.
  • Provides guidance in the interpretation and administration of compensation programs and policies with a focus on service and program design that meet client needs.
  • Conducts ongoing needs analysis and prepares recommendations to client groups/senior management.
  • Develops and facilitates compensation training.
  • Leads/participates in complex compensation projects (that is year-end, local & global) as assigned and provides guidance to client groups/colleagues.
  • Conducts job evaluations for new positions to determine appropriate salary grade.
  • Evaluates and analyzes market data, determines FLSA status and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Reviews requests for the evaluation of revised job descriptions and develops recommendations.
  • Participates in compensation surveys including the evaluation and determination of appropriate benchmark matches, analyzes and reports results and maintains data in compensation management systems.
  • Conducts research, evaluation and analyzes internal and external market data, analyzes market trends and makes recommendations for salary structure adjustments.
  • Supports executive compensation programs; acts as liaison between Zurich Corporate Center and client groups for executive compensation matters.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or Human Resources.
  • Completion of CCP certification preferred.

Experience Requirements

  

  • 5-7 years Compensation experience required.

Special Skill Requirement

  • Strong skills/ability required in the following areas: Intermediate to advanced Excel; other Microsoft Office, HRIS, web-based applications.
  • Leadership orientation.

  • Analytical, project management and financial modeling.
  • Organizational, follow-up and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of compensation practices and federal/state wage and hour regulations.

Physical Actions

  • This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
  • Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance.
  • Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Visually verifies and reads information.
  • Visually locates material, resources and other objects.
  • Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

    o CO Only: $87,040 - $115,900 
    o HI Only: $87,040 - $124,100
    o IL Only: $87,040 - $124,100
    o NY/ DC Only: $84,880 - $130,700 
             o Albany County: $92,720 - $115,900 
    o WA Only:  $87,040 - $155,125
