About the role...
The role is in our Personal Lines Auto Pricing unit and performs actuarial analysis to forecast profitability, measure against expectations, and evaluate the product plan for assigned lines of insurance; analyzes proposed rating and classification plans for new products; designs new and revised statistical reports needed for actuarial analysis of new products and in-force business.
What you'll accomplish...
- Performs actuarial analysis for our PL Auto team.
- Analyzes and recommends revisions in rates and rating plans for assigned lines of insurance.
- Performs actuarial analysis and research concerning present and proposed rating plans, proposed or recently enacted legislation affecting the actuarial function, and the pricing of new products.
- Supports the development of rate level setting tools for existing and new products.
- Performs actuarial analysis required to support rate filings with regulatory authorities.
- Represents Actuarial Department through participation in inter- departmental meetings, and discussions with other Home Office departments and other stakeholders.
- Assists in the training and development of professional actuarial personnel as assigned.
- Performs special actuarial assignments requiring professional expertise.
- Performs other functions as assigned.

Education needed...
- Associate in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Actuarial Pricing experience preferred.
Experience needed...
Three years Actuarial experience, including one year as an Associate Actuary, ACAS.
Special skills needed...
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel (VBA experience is a plus).
- Experience using Python or other programming languages (i.e. R, SAS).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to perform job duties independently with attention to detail.

o CO Only: $99,920 - $146,520
o HI/IL/MN/VT Only: $99,920 - $156,750

o NY/DC/NJ Only: $99,920 - $169,950
o Albany County: $106,560 - $146,520
o WA Only: $99,920 - $178,125 - Bonus Opportunity (based on Company and Individual Performance)
