Workplace: Hybrid ( #LI-Hybrid ), Remote ( #LI-Remote ) - depending on candidate location

Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. About the role...

  • This position provides critical decision support across the enterprise by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to address business challenges.
  • The role applies basic mathematical, statistical, and quantitative techniques to draw conclusions and deliver actionable recommendations that drive efficiency, growth, and profitability.
  • It interprets simple datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends then communicates findings to business partners and leadership to support informed decision-making.
  • The position performs work while receiving a substantial level of instruction, guidance and coaching from more experienced team members or supervisor.

What you'll accomplish...

  • Applies basic mathematical, statistical, and quantitative techniques to contribute to the resolution of small-to-medium-scale business problems that significantly impact current and future business strategies.
  • Receives instruction or guidance from more experienced team members to build descriptive or explanatory models, or uses the output of models created by others.
  • Analyzes datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
  • Leverages interactive data visualization tools and stati stical techniques such as distribution analysis, correlation analysis, outlier detection, multivariate analysis, time series, machine learning, and others to uncover hidden insights.
  • Participates in basic exploratory data analysis (EDA) in collaboration with with more experienced team members to uncover opportunities including testing hypotheses and validating findings with business partners.
  • Collects data from a variety of sources and integrates and transforms disparate datasets to create cohesive datasets for analysis.
  • Follows existing procedures and practices to assess data quality and apply data hygiene techniques to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Supports data reliability by conducting routine quality checks, documenting data processes, and collaborating with more experienced analysts for peer review and data validation as needed.
  • Supports translation of technical data insights into communications and presentations for non-technical business partners and leadership to ensure data-driven insights and recommended action plans are easily understandable.
  • Uses basic storytelling approaches to make complex information more accessible and actionable.
  • Participates in discussions with cross-functional business partners and teams to learn about, understand, and collaborate on complex business objectives.
  • Assists in developing and executing solution strategies and outcomes by leveraging general business knowledge.
  • Applies conceptual knowlege of theories and procedures in data analysis to provide insights that support decision- making.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional technical teams including IT, data scientists, data engineers and others to help ensure data integrity and assist the optimization of data pipelines.
  • Identifies data quality issues and collaborates to resolve them. Assists deployment and monitoring of straightforward predictive models into workflows.
  • Stays informed about emerging decision and data science methodologies, tools, and best practices. Applies learning and new understanding to improve own performance and the quality of work produced.
  • Asks questions to more experienced team members and actively seeks feedback to confirm understanding.
  • Engages in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and contribute effectively to team objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical actions...

  • Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location.
  • The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions.
  • Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift.
  • Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties.
  • Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees.
  • Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information.
  • Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects.
  • Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace.
  • Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.

Education needed...

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred in data science, statistics, mathematics, business analytics or similar.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience needed...

  • At least one year of related experience required.
  • Data analytics or similar internship preferred.
  • Experience using data analysis and manipulation tools (such as SQL, Python, SAS, R, and/or Snowflake).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power BI).
  • Able to adapt quickly to new technologies.
