As IFRS 17 PMO Lead, you will be responsible for leading the execution of PMO activities, including overarching program governance, assessment activities, gap analysis and recommendations. You will work with other functions to ensure risks and issues are identified, communicated, and have appropriate mitigation plans established. You will be responsible for facilitating change management on behalf of the program, ensuring appropriate training activities are established for the organization’s transition to IFRS 17. Additionally, you will oversee the development and delivery of executive communications and reporting.


FNWL's primary offices are in Bellevue, Washington however this role can be performed remotely anywhere within the U.S. on a long-term basis with occasional travel for onsite collaboration.

Essential Job Functions

  • Executes overarching program governance, ensuring appropriate identification and tracking of task progress along with management to project budget.  Assesses activities and plans to identify where gaps or challenges exist (e.g. timeline, resource availability) and recommends resolution.
  • Collaborates with others (finance, actuarial, systems, FP&A, data, technology, operations; Farmers, Zurich) to identify risks; coordinates the management of these, ensuring clear communication of potential implications and development of appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Facilitates change management activities on behalf of the program.  Considers training needs for the range of stakeholders and ensures appropriate training/development plans for each.  Ensures plans address both short-term and long-term implications of IFRS 17.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of executive communications and reporting, considers the appropriate form and format for such reporting to suit stakeholders needs and preferences, ensures such communications are delivered timely
  • Assist in reviews, audits and other examinations to resolve IFRS 17 program related issues.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CPA, MBA, Masters or similar preferred

Experience Requirements

  • At least six years of successful experience in project management, preferably in program management, supporting the successful completion of projects on time and within budget; projects ideally related to complex accounting and/or actuarial change implementation.
  • Knowledge of life insurance processes, valuation, and accounting; specific understanding of IFRS 17 requirements and implementation ideal
  • Successful implementation of change management programs, ideally within a multinational insurer
