Job Summary

  • Are you a seasoned IT professional with strong background in managing Cloud and On-Premise IT Infrastructure projects?  Farmers Life is looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager who will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers who have the focus of supporting the infrastructure practice. The responsibilities include platform migrations, software upgrades, security projects, implementing new workflow tools, deploying software patches, and improving performance and reliability for services provided by Farmers Life to our internal and external customers.
  • The ideal candidate has strong analysis skills, is organized, builds strong relationships, has an eye for details.  Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and consistently convey complex technical requirements while being able to translate the activities into concepts that non-technical users can relate to.  The projects will be delivered through suppliers and employee teams and individual effort.
  • Manages a group of staff; Plans and controls day to day project tasks and budgets; Adheres to IT governance; Manages relationship with immediate environment, enabling commitment; Works with business unit to define needs and arranges appropriate resources; Coordinates delivery of work from all suppliers for a large scale project, including risk, quality, change management, schedule, and financial management; Accountable for development of work orders/cost estimates to/from suppliers, Acceptance Criteria and User Acceptance Testing; Responsible for project level planning, monitoring and reporting.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery goals are met.
  • Proactively translate emerging and ongoing needs into measurable projects.
  • Break down work and ensure consistent execution of core and improvement efforts.
  • Deliver the right balance of quality, performance, and security while raising others to the same standard.         
  • Procure software, services, and hardware required to implement the solution.
  •  Provide technical guidance for monitoring information systems operations.
  • Create high performance solutions and establish protocols to ensure that these are tested in compliance with standards.
  • Measure and Motivate teams and suppliers while driving performance.
  • Manage estimates, SOWs, and SLAs with suppliers.
  • Interact and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to arrive at the best solution.
  • 5 years’ experience leading it infrastructure programs.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Level II: 4 years experience in an IT environment, including 1 year in a supervisory role or 1 year as a Program Manager I

Special Skill Requirement

  • High availability solution design
  • Automated Testing for non-functional requirements
  • Systems Architecture design
  • Demonstrated mastery of core ITIL and or DevOps practices
  • Able to describe and apply core networking and information systems concepts
  • Experience with MSSQL, Java, F5, AWS, EMC, Linux, and Windows
