Job Summary

The DMV Loan Processor handles all duties associated with the auto lien process for the Credit Union. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring member information is added to the vehicle title, processing collateral releases upon payoff, as well as reviewing/managing various reports associated with the loan and following up on needed items or discrepancies. In addition to processing and maintaining DMV records to ensure Credit Union compliance, also responsible for validating the security interests of vehicle portfolios (e.g. ensuring vehicle loans correctly list Credit Union and lien information).

Essential Job Functions

  • Handles DMV title tracking activities to assure all necessary titles have been perfected.
  • This includes reviewing pending title reports for items missing or for discrepancies and takes appropriate action to resolve such issues, generates 30/60/90 day follow up letters, and reviews incoming paper/electronic vehicle titles for completeness and accuracy and then files/archives them accordingly.
  • Reviews and acts upon various vehicle lien related activities including adding lienholder information to title when vehicle is financed, releasing vehicle title to members when lien is satisfied, assisting collections department with repossession paperwork and processes requests for duplicate copies of Lien Releases when original is lost or destroyed.
  • In addition, also handles title change requests, applications for duplicate titles, and addresses as well as resolves member questions, problems and complains relating to vehicle liens.
  • Processes, pays, or rejects Sight Drafts for applicable states, handles Letters of Guarantee for insurance companies as well as Letters of Permission requests for members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

At least two years' experience working in a financial institution required

Special Skill Requirement

  • Prior knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and computer skills required
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, written and verbal skills preferred
  • This is an essential on-site position in Burbank, CA.
  • The pay range for this location is $19 - $21/hr
