About the role...

Manages the daily operations of the consumer loan officers in all locations across the United States. This would include the processing, funding, administration, compliance, auditing and member service. The manager educates, develops, directs, coordinates and coaches all staff in their purview. In addition to consumer loan officers, the Loan Manager oversees Residential Real Estate loan officers and processors. This would include weekly meetings with RE staff, meetings and coordination with our CUSO, Community Mortgage Funding and the coordinated success of funding home loans in all 50 states. Researches new products and services and makes appropriate recommendations to the Chief Lending Officer.

What you'll accomplish...

  • Clearly communicates Lending Goals, rules, regulations, policy, procedure and expectations.
  • Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures related to lending activities, working closely with the lending supervisor and the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Provides management oversight and monitoring of underwriting, processing, documentation and lending guidelines related to all consumer and residential real estate
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to all staff in the loan managers purview to ensure performance is continuously and consistently managed.
  • Oversees the development and monitoring of performance standards and metrics for all lending functions.
  • Researches and evaluates feasibility of new lending products and develops implementation plans for enhancements and changes.
  • Remains current with compliance procedures, laws, and regulations and clearly communicates all relevant information to staff.
  • Works in conjunction with training and compliance.
  • Reviews system reports regularly to monitor departmental activity, taking appropriate action as necessary.
  • Analyzes departmental tasks and implements as needed, additional review procedures to ensure and maintain an effective control environment.
  • Manages member service levels and immediately reviews and adjusts procedures, tasks and staffing to ensure a rating above or equal to stakeholder requirements.
  • Works closely with auditors and regulators to ensure quality.
  • Immediately takes corrective action for any deficiencies.

Education needed...

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years of business related courses.

Experience needed...

  • 5 years of  real estate related experience in banking and/or lending,
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • 3 years experience in mortgage lending specific to first time mortgage applicants

Special skills needed...

  • Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending guidelines.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and fundamentals of real estate lending.
