Job Summary
Directs and controls the committing, closing, servicing, funding and foreclosure of real estate and consumer loans.
Essential Job Functions
Reviews and decides real estate loan requests and makes recommendations to supervisor when request is outside approval authority. Initiates requests for property appraisals and title searches. Obtains credit ratings, deeds, insurance, bids and other documents necessary for loan completion. Checks fire insurance policies for completeness, accuracy and cancellation notices. Analyzes title documents and determines potential problems such as improper title conveyance, homesteads and unpaid taxes. Commits, funds and closes all loan types. Develops and maintains roster of correspondent, title, appraisal and escrow companies and attorneys upon whom the Credit Union may depend for services involving real estate loans outside the home office area; maintains high degree of service and liaison with such companies and attorneys regarding approval and completion of such loans, seeing that all necessary steps are taken to properly protect the Credit Union's interest. Takes appropriate action to protect the Credit Union's interest in event of loan delinquency; completes loan payoff transactions and prepares documentation required to accomplish foreclosure and disposal of real property securing loans. Completes necessary documentation to sell real estate loans in the secondary market. Monitors and quotes fluid market conditions of secondary market to members. Performs other functions as assigned.
Physical Actions
Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying ten pounds maximum.
Physical Environment
Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a mortgage servicing course comparable to that offered by the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Experience Requirements
Two years as a real estate mortgage lending or escrow officer or equivalent.
Special Skill Requirement
Proficiency with computers.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred.
