Job Summary
- Performs loan approval, denial, audit and disbursement functions and all other specialized tasks regarding the Credit Unions lending operations.
- Specializes in Business loans, including Agency loans, Agency Acquisition loans and Family Rights Transfers, while assisting with all other consumer loans.
- Will also serve as a subject matter expert to assist and support loan officers.
Essential Job Functions
- Underwrites complex business and/or agency acquisition loan requests and processes agency loan conversions.
- Complex acquisition loans involve multiple sellers and significant monetary value therefore increasing the complexities and intricacies of the process.
- Analyzes applicable loan documents necessary for loan completion, ensuring compliance with NCUA regulations.
- Underwrites loan requests through review of debt to income ratios, applicable legal documents such as tax returns, may conduct cash flow analysis.
- Reviews and provides an approval or denial determination to agency and/or business loan requests within authority.
- Makes informed recommendations to management, to approve or deny, when outside approval authority.
- During periods of heavy consumer volume, may assist with consumer loan requests as needed.
- Maintains a high degree of service and liaison with Farmers Accounting, Agent Records and other applicable third parties regarding procedures, approval and completion of the purchase loans, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to properly protect the Credit Unions interests.
- Trains co-workers and provides guidance and support in understanding specialized business and/or agency products.
- Serves as subject matter expert to provide guidance to other loan staff regarding any specialized loans.
- Trains other business or consumer lending staff as needed.
- Reviews loan procedures periodically to ensure best practices are in line with the needs of the business.
- Stays abreast of changes pertaining to Farmers agency purchase procedures.
- Makes recommendations to management to correlate with changes at Farmers regarding agency purchase procedures.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements
- Four years experience in a financial institution.
- Three years experience as a loan officer with two years in the business lending experience.
Physical Actions
- This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
- Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
- Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance.
- Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Visually verifies and reads information.
- Visually locates material, resources and other objects.
- Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
