As the Business Insurance Sales Director, you will lead commercial sales strategy and execution across a defined zone. You’ll be accountable for revenue growth, market penetration, and agent development—ensuring our field force is equipped, aligned, and motivated to win.
About the role:
- Plans, directs, develops, and coordinates all sales related activities to accomplish revenue goals and market penetration for the assigned zone.
- Also responsible for the attainment of overall department objectives.
- Acts as the agent advocate for recommending appropriate new products, services and field initiatives.
- Coordinates field facing activities, programs and promotions and works with all appropriate personnel to ensure business unit needs and desired objectives are meet.
- Driving sales and profit execution within an assigned geographic territory through coordinated strategic alignments.
What you'll own:
- Strategic Leadership: Design and execute short-, mid-, and long-term sales strategies that drive commercial growth.
- Performance Management: Set clear objectives, track progress, and adjust plans to exceed targets.
- Agent Development: Partner with District Managers to deploy segmentation strategies and build high-performing agency teams.
- Market Expansion: Identify and activate target markets through training, promotions, and sales enablement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with marketing, training, and product teams to deliver impactful field initiatives.
- Communication & Influence: Ensure consistent, clear messaging across all levels—from executive leadership to field agents.
- Innovation & Agility: Leverage data, technology, and agile processes to optimize sales effectiveness and uncover new opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring:
• Proven success in sales leadership (7–10 years), preferably in insurance or a comparable industry.
• Commercial insurance experience (1–3 years preferred).
• Strong communication, influence, and relationship-building skills.
• A growth mindset with a bias for action and accountability.

Physical actions:

- Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Visually verifies and reads information.
- Visually locates material, resources and other objects.
- Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
