Job Summary
This position is accountable for the performance of multiple teams focused on the implementation of concurrent strategic initiatives. It acts as a strategic advisor to lead and drive initiatives that support the business strategy at the department and enterprise levels. Role directs the research, development, and design of initiatives of varying complexity, including highly complex and strategic initiatives. Partners with executive leadership to create overarching process strategies to drive innovation, optimize process efficiency, resource utilization, quality, accuracy and customer service for a business function. Applies data analytics, lean thinking, process improvement, and change management to impact business outcomes. Mentors, coaches, and trains team members at all experience levels and manages direct reports who are people leaders. Performs work autonomously while being guided by functional policies or strategy frameworks.
Essential Job Functions
Directs, leads, and owns strategy execution and transformation of business processes, workflows, and systems. Directs the research, development, and design of innovative solutions to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery. Directs centralization of best practices and processes supportive of overarching strategies. Considers costs, benefits, risks, timelines, success probabilities, change management, and strategy impact when assessing potential solutions. Acts as a strategic advisor to provide leadership or guidance for initiatives for a business function or at the enterprise level. Partners with executive leadership on strategic matters while providing functional guidance and reporting analysis on initiatives in flight. Directs end-to-end execution of initiatives of varying complexity and works closely with business partners to ensure progress toward accomplishment of short-and long-term initiatives. Responsible for timely and effective delivery of project activities and milestones using sound process improvement techniques. Aligns iniatives with broader business objectives by organizing and leading teams focused on strategic projects. Designs and influences corrective programs and actions where deficiencies exist or where progress is less than satisfactory. Applies advanced expertise and deep understanding of business drivers and objectives to influence the formulation business strategy. Provides insight into competing functional, operational, or enterprise objectives and recommends or guides periodic revisions based on analysis of performance metrics and evolving business needs. Integrates line of business and corporate vision into recommendations. Leverages all available sources, internal and external, to support the business in understanding the competitive landscape. Identifies new strategic opportunities for Farmers to provide innovative solutions to our customers. Sponsors advanced data analyses and leverages them to craft compelling narratives around the results of initiatives. Influences or persuades stakeholders to adopt certain perspectives and secure their support and commitment. Transforms data-driven insights into comprehensive reports and delivers presentations to leadership and business partners at all levels, including executive leadership. Stays informed on industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices to recommend and drive the execution of innovative solutions. Applies knowledge to strategically align business priorities and maintain competitive offerings. Attends conferences, seminars, and demonstrations to enhance understanding of the competitive landscape. Directs planning to stay connected with customer feedback and competitive intelligence. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Actions
Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. Job may include work performed at field locations. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Field work performed outdoors may include exposure to weather elements. Frequently sits or stands for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and places objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Occasionally performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category may require regular travel between Farmers offices, alternative work locations, and/or field locations.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree required. Project Management Professional (PMP) required upon hire. Six Sigma, Lean and Agile methodologies preferred.
Experience Requirements
Minimum eight years of experience in strategic leadership, project management, change management or related role required. Experience in a people leader role preferred.
