Job Summary
- Partners with business teams to design and implement complex data and analytics-centric and value-added systems and solutions that enable business outcomes. Projects are complex.
- Performs work independently or with minimal guidance, depending on task complexity.
- Responsible for moderately influencing data and analytic strategy, development and implementation of low to moderately complex data and analytic products to drive business decisions, customer/agent experience, profitability and growth.
- Reviews and approves low to moderate complexity initiatives related to data and analytic efforts.
- Oversees the ongoing support, maintenance and modification of existing moderately complex data products or solutions.
- This position is responsible for bringing innovative ideas in Data & Analytics to Business leadership that may be domain specific or functional in nature with a proven level of implementation individually.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops complex value-based analytics solutions for quality, business process functionality, or other strategic/data/analytic initiatives that are complex in nature.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and establish analytics requirements.
- Creates detailed documentation and business plans that address stakeholder needs.
- Liaises between IT, data science/R&D teams and Product Management for analytics models and data solutions.
- Trusted business partner working with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify key challenges and work on resolutions with the goal of improving organizational performance.
- Develops and implements complex enterprise-wide data integration strategies that utilize various data-marts and data warehouse applications to enhance reporting.
- Continuously works across departments with a variety of stakeholders to develop and execute project plans, improve data platforms, dashboards, and reports to meet emerging and changing business demands and guidelines.
- Consults with minimal guidance on UAT, technical specifications, strategic planning, contract design, technical support, testing updates, and trainings.
- Manages data from multiple sources and uses project management skills to complete complex projects with minimal coaching and guidance.
- Transmits data and proactively works to ensure data quality.
- Troubleshoots data issues and devises creative and effective ways to avoid or mitigate issues.
- Uses advanced understanding of data elements, structures, standards typically involved in financial services transactions, reporting, and cloud-based data storage/sharing to adopt and apply standards in a way that satisfies and balances regulatory and compliance requirements with business needs.
- Manages a highly skilled team of individual contributors effectively.
- Learning skills in maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
- Supervises, guides, coaches, and manages the performance of direct reports.
- Delivers regular feedback and supports professional development.
- Relies on emerging skill in employee engagement to promote a high-performance culture where excellence is standard and innovation is actively encouraged.
- Ability to craft strategic plans and translate those plans to action for individuals within span of control or indirect individuals across one to two business domains.
- Proven track record of strategic enablement.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years of related work experience required.
- Experience in insurance industry preferred.
Special Skill Requirement
- Hands‑on coding and data engineering proficiency sufficient to both deliver solutions and mentor Business Solutions Analysts: expert SQL (complex joins, window functions, performance tuning), strong Python for data wrangling/automation (pandas/PySpark), ability to build and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines against data marts/warehouses; comfort working with APIs and files (JSON/CSV/Parquet), data modeling (Snowflake), and BI layer enablement (Tableau/Power BI) with robust UAT and version control practices; plus working knowledge of cloud data platforms and storage standards to troubleshoot data quality issues and ensure secure, compliant integrations across reporting platforms.
