Job Summary

Farmers Group (Caledonia, MI) seeks an Agile Dev Team Member IV to work with .NET web framework and provide technical feasibility using a range of coding methods and adhere to coding standards to ensure consistent style and format. Specific duties include: ensure systems are architecturally sound, high in code and component quality, and are easily modified to support future requirements with support and little to no guidance of more senior developers or architects; provide guidance, mentorship and training to direct reporting staff of Agile Dev team members; execute Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to build in quality; lead the system design to demonstrate customer needs by interpreting into viable solutions; break down features and write and refine user stories, including clear and accurate acceptance criteria; perform broad and detailed impact assessments relating people, processes and/or technology, and estimates user stories using relative sizing of story points; support implementation activities; troubleshoot user/system environmental issues and training; support business in building a Lean Business case and breaking epics into features; identify and raise issues and risks with functional design; and partner with the Product Owner to confirm code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality; provide expertise in the solution design and functionality of business applications; review and validate application technical design of team members to ensure alignment with business needs and best practice architecture principles; research and develop techniques for automation; and analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling. Position requires SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification. Option to work remotely is available.

 

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior System Analyst, Senior Consultant, or similar position. Specific experience must include working with each of the following: Property/Casualty Insurance Domain; Microsoft .NET Framework; C#; ASP.NET with MVC4; SQL; Visual Studio; IBM DB2; Git; IBM Data Studio; Mulesoft; FileNet; Angularjs; Bootstrap; offshore work coordination with vendor contractors; Production Support troubleshooting/resolution; development of REST based .NET web APIs and windows scheduled tasks/services to create a channel for customer data flow between Agent applications; and Vendor APIs and backend DB2 database and integration with Mainframe Batch system and Mulesoft services. Must have SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification. Option to work remotely is available.
