Job Summary

The Specialty Business Information Delivery (BID) team is seeking a data-driven professional to support regulatory reporting and data solutions across Foremost business units.  

 

The intenral position title will be Business Solutions Analyst. 

What You'll Do

Analyze and deliver data solutions:

  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases using SQL (DB2 and Snowflake).
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards using DAX, Power Query, and M to support business reporting needs.
  • Apply business intelligence techniques to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Build efficient semantic models and visualizations tailored to regulatory and operational reporting.
  • Leverage Excel for advanced data manipulation and reporting tasks.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting deliverables.

 

Support regulatory reporting and business operations:

  • Collaborate with business units to understand reporting requirements and deliver timely, accurate outputs.
  • Interpret regulatory guidelines and translate them into data requirements and reporting logic.
  • Document data processes and reporting logic to ensure transparency and repeatability.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation and training materials.

 

Communicate insights and influence decisions:

  • Create impactful PowerPoint presentations to communicate complex data findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Translate analytical results into clear business implications and recommendations.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, including leadership, with clarity and confidence.

 

Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing:

  • Mentor and upskill peers in areas of expertise, including Power BI, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Share best practices and contribute to team standards and templates.

 

Demonstrate business acumen and adaptability:

  • Understand P&C insurance concepts and how they relate to data and reporting.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving business needs and regulatory changes.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, deep technical expertise in data tools and platforms, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences, preferred.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in SQL (DB2 and Snowflake), Power BI, and Excel, preferred.
  • Passionate about fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment, preferred. 

Education You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.

Additional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude. Intermediate experience with: SQL (preferably using Snowflake), Power BI semantic modeling, and BI visualizations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents.

Physical Actions

Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace.
