Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Job Details

Applicants who wish to be considered for this position must reside within 50 miles of our Olathe, KS, or Calendonia, MI office and have a minimum of three years of claims handling experience. 

Job Summary

Investigates, determines responsibility, confirms coverage, establishes damages, and negotiates settlement of claims.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts office investigation on assigned cases involving more complexity, confirms coverage, establishes damages, reports status, and negotiates settlement (has authority to make payment of assigned claims within prescribed limits). 
  • Assists our customers that elect to leverage the Property GRP repair network to inspect damages and facilitate the repairs. 
  • Reviews inspection results and findings from the contracting network and settles the loss.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required to maintain an active adjusters license in states where required.

Experience Requirements

  • Candidate should have a minimum of three years prior claims experience.
  • Successful completion of the Special Office Claims Representative Validation process is required.

Physical Actions & Environment

This role, whether performed virtually, or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.

  • Sits or stands for extended periods, up to a full work shift.
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance.
  • Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (for example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Visually verifies and reads information.
  • Visually locate material, resources, and other objects.
  • Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods, up to a full work shift.
  • Physical dexterity is sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
