Job Summary

Designs, configures software programs, tests and implements changes to the configuration to ensure they meet user specification and installation standards. Documents programs and analyzes business requirements. Gathers and analyzes data to ensure configuration programming is being implemented efficiently and in accordance with guidelines. Acts as a mentor and assists with training of less experienced staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Designs the configuration necessary to meet user requirements of moderate to difficult complexity for changes.
  • Configures changes and unit tests the changes made, then turns over to the Testing area to further test.
  • Once these changes are approved to move forward, schedules the work to be implemented.
  • Produce cost estimates and documentation for work items and projects.
  • Based on the requirements from the business, the developer determines how long the desired changes will take and then creates an estimate for the business and testing areas.
  • Assists Configuration Developers with problem determination and correction of errors relating to the system.
  • Conducts preliminary analyses of cost and time requirements to determine scope for new or enhancement requests.
  • Reviews business requirements for impacts to the areas of responsibility.
  • Provides guidance and peer review for work completed by junior developers.
  • Conducts problem determination and correction of errors relating to the system.
  • Also acts as a liaison for system questions and queries relating to system issues.
  • Provides training to less experienced developers.
  • Adapts existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis on Computer Programming.

Experience Requirements

  • Three years of experience with computer programming, either through course of study or work experience.
  • Knowledge of Duck Creek or programming with C# and SQL.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
