Job Summary
This role provides strategic leadership for technology audit (including oversight of technology risk coverage within integrated audits), setting technology risk coverage and assurance priorities. It serves as the authority on technology audit conclusions, escalation, and alignment with executive leadership and the Audit Committee. The role also drives capability building and modernization to ensure the function remains effective amid evolving technology risk, including across domains such as cybersecurity, cloud, identity, and emerging technologies.
Essential Job Functions
- Set and own technology audit strategy, risk priorities, and operating model.
- Lead technology risk assessment and development of audit plans and scoping, including application of data-informed, risk-based approaches to prioritize coverage and oversee technology risk coverage within integrated audits.
- Serve as executive and Audit Committee interface on technology risk themes and significant issues.
- Hold ultimate accountability for audit quality, escalation decisions, and risk acceptance.
- Lead long-term capability and innovation strategy.
- Provide strategic leadership for recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
- Lead change management initiatives to support organizational transformation, and manage performance, succession, and long term workforce planning to sustain a high performing organization.
- Maintain executive relationships to align audit coverage with enterprise priorities.
- Communicate audit plans, results, and emerging technology risk themes to management and governance forums.
- Oversee escalation of significant issues and ensure audit insights drive systemic remediation and informed risk trade offs.
- Lead major initiatives that modernize technology delivery and expand insight generation.
- Drive adoption of analytics, automation, and responsible AI to enhance coverage, efficiency, and impact.
- Ensure efficient and effective execution of the technology audit plan to ensure consistent application of standards and expectations, including ensuring risks, root causes, and impacts are clearly supported through data-informed and risk-based assessment of control effectiveness, and that conclusions are sound.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree preferred. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or equivalent preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum ten years experience in IT audit, cyber risk, or technology risk consulting or equivalent required, preferably within financial services or P&C insurance or external audit industry.
- Minimum five years of leadership experience preferred
