Job Summary
The Direct Sales Team at Farmers Insurance is a high-performing Sales organization, helping customers protect their most valuable personal property via a contact center environment. We provide a consultative approach to insurance sales by taking the time to understand each customer’s insurance needs and present options best suited for them. The Direct Sales channel is a key growth engine for Farmers Insurance; this team is gearing up for expansion, and pursuing operational excellence, innovation, and efficiency to empower the team as we grow.
We’re looking for results-driven, enthusiastic Sales Leaders to join our Direct Sales team.
In this role, you will lead an assigned team of Senior Sales Consultants to effectively sell personal lines products to direct inbound prospective customers. You’ll focus on continuous improvement of customer experience, team performance and company results by leveraging operational resources to analyze and evaluate data and taking action. You’ll consistently provide feedback and coaching to employees regarding their performance and regulatory compliance, while building strong morale and engagement among your team. Success in this role will lead to continued growth in your sales leadership career!

- Strong business acumen and a sense of entrepreneurship- you’re proficient in Excel and can interpret reporting dashboards and calculations related to the sales funnel & metrics, and can clearly communicate goals and metrics to your team.
Here’s what you will accomplish as a member of our team:
- Supervise a team of Sales Consultants by developing staff performance and skills via strong leadership, coaching, motivation, and recognition.
- Monitor multiple systems to qualify risk and ensure risk is placed with proper carrier.
- Monitor all aspects of team performance, including but not limited to, sales performance, customer experience, work product quality, efficiency, attendance and compliance with established company and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify process and performance deficiencies and recommend a course of action to improve sales and resolve operations problems for our team. Implement corrective action as needed.
- Ensures individual continuing education requirements are maintained on all Property & Casualty lines of business.
- Stay current on the latest underwriting guidelines for various carriers and products.
- Investigate and resolve escalated customer issues.
- Interpret and communicate procedural and regulatory changes to assigned staff.
- Compile periodic and ad hoc reports and analyses as required.
Experience Requirements
- P&C or Personal Lines License required.
- Education - High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years in Personal Lines sales, preferably in a call center environment; or equivalent experience in retail sales.
- Leadership & supervisory skills, including experience with mentoring and coaching Sales professionals at various levels in their career.
- Excellent analytical and statistical skills.
- Strong PC and software skills required.
Position Location:
Virtual/Hybrid
Employees who live within a 50-mile radius of a Farmers office will be classified as Hybrid and will be expected to work in-office three days per week.
Employees who do not live within a 50-mile radius of a Farmers office will be classified as Virtual.
Work Schedule:
Our priority is to our customers, and we work non-traditional hours to match their needs. You must be available to work shifts assigned within the hours below; shifts will include evenings, Saturdays, and some holidays.
- Monday-Friday 8am-10:30pm EST
- Saturday 8am-5pm EST

o Albany County: $60,406 - $67,870
