Locations: VIRTUAL – Arizona

We’re looking for passionate, enthusiastic early-career talent, seasoned sales professionals, or those looking to make a career change to join our next class of Sales Consultants beginning August 2022.

In this role, you will respond to calls coming into our call center by positively promoting Farmers Auto & Home insurance products to prospective customers, consulting with customers to understand their needs, and selling those products which best fit the customer’s needs.  You will earn a competitive base salary in addition to monthly incentive earnings based upon your performance.

We provide 9+ weeks of paid training, combining virtual classroom and hands-on learning with mentoring to ensure that you have the skills you need to succeed at Farmers.  Ongoing coaching and training will remain a focus throughout your career to help you grow in your role and advance to new opportunities.

Here’s what you will accomplish as a member of our team:

  • Sell insurance products to inbound callers by gathering data from customers to generate quotes and ultimately bind the business; in some instances, make outbound calls
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships, while educating customers regarding coverages and cost so that the customer can select the most appropriate option
  • Qualify customers as buyers of other products/services to create cross-sell and upselling opportunities
  • Navigate multiple computer systems while seamlessly interacting with the customer

Experience Requirements:

  • P&C/Personal Lines License is not immediately required. Farmers will sponsor and train you for licensing, as you must obtain Personal Lines license to sell within 90 days of hire within your state of residency.
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
  • The ability to obtain resident/non-resident property and casualty license in all states
  • Experience in P&C insurance sales is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of Customer Service experience required (including retail, hospitality, and restaurant experience); Call Center experience is a plus
  • Direct sales skills, and the aptitude to influence customers and close the sale 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to adapt communication style to each phone call, and explain complex policy and coverage information in understandable terms
  • Strong PC and software skills required

Education Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required. - Bachelor's degree preferred. - Obtains resident/non-resident property and casualty license. - Completion of required additional training.

Position Location:

  • Candidates must reside within the State of Arizona; role is permanently virtual. We will provide you with the technology that you need successfully to connect from home, including laptop & accessories and internet stipend.

Work Schedule:

Our priority is to our customers, and we work non-traditional hours to match those needs. 

  • Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-7:30pm; Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm PST 
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week; five 8-hour shifts per week 
  • Training hours are 7:30am-4:00pm PST 

You must be available to work non-traditional hours, which will include evenings and weekends. 

Special Skill Requirement

- Proven sales skill, results, ability to close sale - Advanced conflict resolution skills - Consistently meeting or exceeding performance measurement goals.
