Job Summary
The Direct Sales Team at Farmers Insurance is a high-performing Sales organization, helping customers protect their most valuable personal property in a contact center environment. We provide a consultative approach to insurance sales by taking the time to understand each customer’s insurance needs and present options best suited for them.
We’re looking for sales-driven, enthusiastic experienced Personal Lines insurance sales professionals to join our Outbound Sales team beginning in January 2025.
In this role, you will initiate communication with current customers and prospective customers through outbound calling to warm leads, positively promoting Farmers Direct Sales insurance products, consulting with customers to understand their needs, and selling those products which best fit the customer’s needs. You will earn a competitive base salary in addition to monthly incentive earnings based upon your performance.
We provide paid training, combining virtual classroom and hands-on learning with mentoring to ensure that you have the skills you need to succeed at Farmers. Ongoing coaching and training will remain a focus throughout your career to help you grow in your role and advance to new opportunities.
Compensation:
- Starting base pay is $18 per hour + Monthly Incentives
- On target average earnings (Base + Incentive): $75,000 per year
- Top performers earning $100k+ annually in total comp
Position Location:
This role is virtual.
We will provide you with the technology that you need successfully to connect from home, including laptop & accessories.
Work Schedule:
Our priority is to our customers, and we work non-traditional hours to match their needs.
Candidates hired for this role must be available to work any shifts within the hours below; this may include evenings and some holidays. Shifts are assigned upon training completion and are based on business needs.
- Monday-Friday 9am-10:30pm EST
- Full-time- 40 hours/week; five 8-hour shifts per week
You'll thrive in this position if you have:
- A proven track record of outbound sales success, with experience selling P&C products
- A passion for selling and consulting, and a motivation to earn money based on your performance
- A welcome approach to feedback and coaching, and a continuous desire to learn and improve your skills
- Excellent customer focus and the ability to easily connect & build rapport with all types of people
- The ability to stay organized and efficient, while managing multiple tasks and working across several systems throughout the day
- Tech savviness and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology, processes, and procedures; confidence in your ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot to find answers independently
- Success working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Here's what you will accomplish as a member of our team:
- You’ll initiate communication with current customers and prospects through outbound phone calls, emails or texts, regarding new sales or additional products and coverages
- Contact prospects, establish rapport, and discover coverage needs; you’ll leverage strong consultative sales skills to convert quotes into policies, positively impacting the net written premium.
- Qualify customers as buyers of other products/services to create cross-sell and upselling opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships, while educating customers regarding coverages and cost so that the customer can select the most appropriate option
- Navigate multiple computer systems while seamlessly interacting with the customer
Experience/Education Requirements
- Active Personal Lines license is required upon hire
- 1 year of sales experience is required
- Education - High School diploma or equivalent
Experience/Education Preferred:
- Outbound sales experience is preferred.
- Must be eligible to obtain resident/non-resident Personal Lines license in all required states
- Sales prospecting experience preferred
- Direct sales skills, and the aptitude to influence customers and close the sale
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to adapt communication style to each phone call, and explain complex policy and coverage information in understandable terms
- Strong PC and software skills required
