NDC Inbound Mail Processors are responsible for receiving, sorting, and batching all Inbound physical mail for the claims enterprise. This includes counting and opening all envelopes using both manual and automated mail processing equipment. Identifies, sorts and preps documents using established separation rules, document types, and claims numbers. Responsible for copying documents including envelopes as required by regulatory compliance. Work is completed in a very fast paced production environment where it is expected that all mail be processed and sent for scanning by the end of shift. May work a schedule outside of traditional business hours. Will be required to work in uncontrolled climate conditions.
Essential Job Functions
Extracts all documents from open envelopes into bins using established line of business separation guidelines and/or judgment to determine appropriate document type. NDC Inbound Mail Processors are required to sort the mail into 17 different batch types based on information within the document they are preparing for scanning. Must look at every page for claim numbers and place patch code to separate documents. Identifies multiple claimants within same claim requiring them to make additional copies. Identifies and expedites all attorney and legal documents to the Document Exception group for handling. Sorts all incoming envelopes and packages from 15 post office boxes by type of mail, line of business, state and zip code. Uses hand held scanners to enter envelope information into tracking system. Manually sorts envelopes by opening process used - either manual or by automated opening machine. Performs weekly maintenance and cleaning of automated opening equipment. Uses Air Jog ging machine on every batch, ensuring they are staple free and batch sheets are accurate, counting and delivering all prep batches to Imaging. Identifies and separates mail not intended for Farmers and processes for return to sender. Performs other duties as required.

Physical Actions
This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements
One year of general work experience preferred.
