Job Summary

Directs and conducts research and preparation activities regarding new personal lines insurance programs and coordinates their introduction with other departments.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for profits/losses in assigned product/territory. Takes leadership role in special projects as assigned by Product Manager. Develops long- and short-term plans for their assigned product/territory with State Executives. Directs development of pricing and contract changes for product. Manages the analysis and research performed in the development and its alignment with other lines. Stays abreast of industry developments. Negotiates and sets priorities to align product goals with the State Executives’ goals. Facilitates through other parts of the organization to accomplish results. Responsible for providing requirements to IT for system changes. Trains and develops product analysts. Coordinates state and home office legislative and regulatory affairs providing input on key bills and regulation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Actions

Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate- controlled office environment with occasional exposure to uncontrolled outside environmental conditions.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in mathematical or statistical field preferred. Masters degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

Four years experience in similar role or one year in Senior Product Analyst role.

Special Skill Requirement

Proficient PC Skills, including Excel, Access, SAS, Word and basic programming for statistical purposes. Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including ability to make effective presentations and write articles publishable in trade magazines. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn advanced insurance pricing concepts and insurance terms and structure. Must achieve minimum passing score on logical reasoning analytical aptitude exam
