Job Summary

The Paid Search Manager will lead strategy, execution, and optimization of paid search campaigns to drive profitable customer acquisition and retention across auto, home, bundle, and specialty insurance products. This role requires a strong balance of analytical precision, business acumen, and creative problem-solving — connecting paid search investments directly to policy growth, contribution margin, and lifetime value. 

Essential Job Functions

Strategy & Execution 

  • Develop and own paid search strategy across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and emerging search platforms (e.g., AdMedia).  Translate business goals (e.g., policy binds, contribution margin, retention) into campaign objectives and KPIs. Manage full-funnel performance — from awareness and quote starts to completed binds and renewals. Partner with analytics to align optimization toward CPA and LTV, not just volume. 

Measurement & Insights 

  • Partner with Analytics and Finance to ensure data integrity and accurate ROI reporting.  Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders.

Optimization & Testing 

  • Lead always-on testing roadmap (ad copy, landing pages, bid strategy, audience segmentation). Use automation and scripts to enhance campaign efficiency and quality score. Conduct incrementality and attribution analyses to identify true paid search impact. Collaborate with cross-channel teams to align messaging and remarketing efforts.

Vendor & Budget Management 

  • Oversee significant multi-million-dollar paid search budgets with a focus on profitability. Manage agency and platform relationships, negotiating for efficiency and innovation. Reallocate investment based on incremental lift, customer quality, and margin performance. 

 
 

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Econonics or related field preferred. MBA preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing large-scale Paid Search campaigns (agency or in-house). 

Additional Qualification

  • Proven experience in financially regulated or performance-driven industries (insurance, fintech, etc.). 

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics, SA360, and data visualization tools (PowerBI),  

  • Strong understanding of attribution modeling, incrementality testing, and LTV measurement. 

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for connecting data to business outcomes. 

Physical Actions

Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.

Physical Environment

This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
