In this role you will:

You will write external and internal communication to our customers, with a high level of attention to details. 

Provide  superior  customer service  and  strong critical thinking skills.

Demonstrate a high level of empathy while delivering difficult news. 

Work with vendors to locate suitable housing for customers and pays for customers incurred cost. 

Able to handle large volume of  claims for customers that have suffered grievous property losses. 

Job Summary

Coordinates claim services and serves as primary contact for vendors and customers. Investigates, negotiates settlements on, and resolves large loss claims. Collaborates with claim owner to handle complex claims within prescribed authority limits and consistent with policy and legal requirements. Performs work independently under general supervision.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates vendor services according to policy provisions and customer needs including arranging for contractors, mitigation or cleaning services, relocation assistance, etc. Acts as liaison between vendors and customers. Maintains accurate claim files and documentation, reports on claim status, and closes claim files upon completion of final payment.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders throughout the claim resolution process. In conjunction with claim owner, investigates assigned portion of complex claims and interprets policy provisions to determine payment. Decides, within prescribed authority limits, if claims will be approved or denied.
  • Communicates policy provisions and claim determination to customers and other stakeholders. Negotiates settlements to resolve assigned portion of complex claims. When claim exceeds prescribed authority limits, refers it to management and makes recommendations for settlement and resolution. Performs other duties as assigned. Represents the Company from a public relations standpoint and conducts oneself as a member of management at all times. Interacts with stakeholders including customers, policyholders, agents, attorneys, vendors, and all other persons incident to the investigation and processing of claims.

Physical Actions

This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Other: Must maintain active adjusters license in states where required.

Experience Requirements

1-3 years of customer service experience required.
