Job Summary

  • Oversees team providing data modeling services (exploratory and predictive modeling) for all lines of business and all share service functions. Leads the effort to define complex solutions and manages the overall development effort of a team of individual contributors. Responsible for bringing innovative ideas in analytics to business leadership.

Essential Job Functions

  • Leads the design, development and deployment of advanced models (exploratory, prediction, optimization).
  • Leads the end-to-end model development process, and the design and execution of Design of Experiments.
  • Responsible for more complex projects and serves as a pivotal partner to the solutions team. Designs, writes and tests computer programs in model building. Communicates models, validation and key findings to business executives.
  • Provides leadership guidance for organization, strategy, technology, training and planning. Assists in building the teams’ capabilities, processes and methodologies.
  • Responsible for developing internal technical development programs that are necessary to increase the technical capabilities of the team. Mentors team members on technical approaches to analysis and modeling and the use of analytics related technology.
  • Acts as a liaison between the analytics effort and IT resources to ensure the appropriate technical environment for the work.
  • Coordinates model development with outside consultants where relevant.
  • Supports the deployment integration and maintenance for production models.
  • Guides the work of individual contributors on the project and managing the overall effort.
  • Designs, develops and validates quantitative models (descriptive, predictive, optimization/simulation and others) built using a variety of modeling techniques.
  • Presents features, predictions and segments of models in graphical, tabular and text form to a variety of end users, from non-technical to very technical. Participates in team meetings, conferences, knowledge sharing and individual learning activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Master's degree required. Ph.D. degree preferred in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, operations research or other quantitative science field.

Experience Requirements

  • More than 10 years as a Model coder/developer in a delivery oriented environment required. 3-5 years as a leader of the data science effort for an organization required.
