Job Summary

Be a contributing member of the Infrastructure Shared Services Real Time Integration team within Applications Operations. Focusing on middleware real-time and batch integration support activities for agent, customer, and employee-facing applications using Mule, IIB, and Sterling Integrator.    Manage the lifecycle of production incidents, restoring services as quickly as possible when interruptions occur.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support for middleware technologies existing footprint and new integrations. The candidate will be working with API management and integrations technologies such as Mulesoft Cloud and on Prem, Sterling Integrator, IIB, MQ, and automation/scripting,  to support a highly resilient environment.
  • Experienced with cloud-based identity and access management providers such as Okta
  • Strong understanding of security concepts such Active Directory, LDAP, SSO/SAML
  • Experience performing integration use cases involving multiple systems and complex business logic tying in system, process, and experience API layers
  • Solid knowledge of: REST, SOAP, HTTP, JSON, XML, WCF
  • Deep understanding of API management in terms of design, development, security of complex workflows and infrastructure to support
  • Ability to challenge the status quo both technically & operationally, act proactively with a sense of urgency, and be forward thinking

Essential Job Functions

  • Level 1, Level 2 troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge of micro services architecture and API Strategy
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
  • Drive high-severity incident calls. Address and resolve problems encountered by users, whether they require a quick fix or a major collaborative effort across various departments. This includes providing clear, regular status updates and metrics for ongoing issues.
  • Identify and address performance monitoring gaps and leverage dashboards to benchmark and check the application health, continually analyzing incident trends to identify root causes that will help reduce Mean Time to Restore (MTTR)

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to Identify, design, and implement process improvements: Automating manual processes, optimizing Integration services, continue to improve infrastructure security, scalability, and stability.
  • Build Monitoring solutions that enable actionable insights into operational efficiency and key performance metrics.
  • Work with the Incident Management and Problem Management teams to proactively reduce issue occurrence/recurrence.
  • Maintain and update system runbooks and improve intellectual property - create knowledge articles to build up the IP/capabilities of both the Operations Team and the Help Desk
  • Apply and enforce ITSM/ITIL standards for the incident management process (identification, logging, categorization, prioritization, response, diagnosis, escalation, resolution, and closure).
  • Partner with application development teams to prioritize pending defects by highlighting the business operations, customer, and agent impacts
  • Partner with application development teams to support release and infrastructure related maintenance/implementations
  • Proactively evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations to increase efficiency.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5+ years equivalent, relevant experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Real Time Integration using the following software/tools:
  • In-depth knowledge in Mule Administration, Configuration and Tuning with MuleSoft.
  • Experience in supporting On Premise/Cloud Production Environments and validate existing installations and provide recommendations.
  • Conceptually good at API Manager, API Policy Implementation, deployments, VPN, VPC, public and dedicated Load balancers
  • Experience in SSL Certificates management and configuration, OAuth 2.0 and other security configurations
  • Experience on Managed File Transfer components specific to IBM technologies (IBM Sterling File Gateway, B2B Integrator) or other secure electronic data transfer protocol software.
  • MQ/IIB working knowledge
  • Experience with IT services frameworks and best practices: ITIL/ITSM
  • Experience with Monitoring/Health checks: Splunk, AppDynamics, Anypoint, SOAP Project
  • Experience with Scripting and automation
  • Basic knowledge of cloud-based architecture preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Database systems: DB2 and Oracle
  • Property/Casualty Insurance Industry knowledge preferred
  • Addition competencies that may add value:
  • Ticketing tools like Service Now, BOX, Confluence, and Rally

  • Farmers offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and location
  • CO Only: The pay range for this job being performed in CO would be 82k-110k DOE
