Job Summary

Obtains and evaluates information that supports revenue growth and profitability; analyzes information using data manipulation and correlation. Analyzes new and existing programs and procedures; actively involved in the development of new procedures and products to fulfill customer needs; writes, revises and maintains procedures and records; responds to service center inquiries and facilitates changes in systems to satisfy service center and customer demands.

Essential Job Functions

•    Manipulates and analyzes data to address and solve business problems
•    Assists product managers in pricing existing products and/or developing new products
•    Performs primary field research, including customer, distribution, competitor, insurance department and market surveys
•    Garners support from stakeholders based on their communication and analysis
•    Builds and distributes robust tools and reports, including highlighting and communicating key findings and conclusions
•    Writes bulletins to communicate rate changes and/or new products
•    Assists in preparation of documents for regulatory filing material and measures and monitors state filings
•    Owns small to medium sized projects with limited support from their manager or other leader
•    Interacts directly with Agile IT and other key stakeholders in writing requirements documents and ensuring quality in production
•    Demonstrates willingness to independently learn and make an impact within a team environment
•    Accepts and adjusts to feedback from peers and leaders; also seeks feedback
•    Builds strong partnerships and fosters a positive culture
•    Acts as a role model and helps to onboard newer analysts
 

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum. Required job duties include sedentary work as well as some or all of the following physical activities; lifting and/or carrying 40-lbs (suitcases, projectors, handouts, laptop computer, etc.), seeing, speaking, hearing, and occasional operation of a motor vehicle.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment with occasional job duties performed in company car, airplane, hotels and various physical sites dictated by travel that are not always in a climate controlled environment.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

Three years of Commercial field underwriting or equivalent industry experience preferred.

Special Skill Requirement

  • Proficient PC skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and database software knowledge
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong analytical background ie. SQL, Excel
  • Demonstrated Commercial product and coverage knowledge preferred

  • CO Only: The pay range for this job being performed in CO would be $64,100 – $85,500
