DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

There are currently 2 available DevOps Engineer roles open on our team: 

Provides high level of expertise in the design and functionality of business applications; Understands the business objectives and how best they can be supported by IT; Responsible for the conceptual design of business applications; Reviews and validates the technical design for business applications provided by the supplier; Performs quality review checks on project deliverables; Validates suppliers estimates; Performs impact analysis of application changes across various components; Estimates Rough Order of Magnitude to implement new application functionality; Specifies / recommends integration and parallel testing criteria; Supports the implementation activities, as required; Mentors lower level colleagues.

  • Build out the Enterprise CI/CD pipelines at scale, working closely with the Application Development, Infrastructure Operations, and Information Security Departments.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps in areas across the company where it has not been embraced.
  • Provide technology solutions for blockers in development/test processes and environments.
  • Create metric baselines and measure progress across the Enterprise.
  • Conduct maturity assessments within business verticals and evangelize DevOps best practices.
  • Keep our pipelines technically current and relevant.  Interact with the Enterprise Architecture team for alignment on solutions.
  • Lead independently, working across Applications, Infrastructure, Security, Monitoring, etc. teams to deliver new capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

Prior 5+ IT Experience including, not limited to:

  • Building complete CI/CD pipelines
  • SDLC planning, building, testing, and deployment
  • Experience with metrics and monitoring specific to DevOps (MTTR, MTTD, etc.)
  • GitHub enterprise
  • Build Tools like Jenkins, Grunt, Maven, Gradle or Groovy
  • Knowledge of test and vulnerability tools like Selenium, Veracode, SonarQube
  • Orchestration, configuration, and repository tools like Terraform, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory
  • Cloud experience with onboarding applications in AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Javascript, Bash, PowerShell or Java
  • Ability to work in container tools such as Kubernetes and Docker a plus
  • 3+ years working in an Agile, DevOps environment
  • Experience with creating a developer portal using SharePoint/Backstage.io or any other tool/technology is a huge plus

Special Skill Requirement

  • This position will support the Pacific Time Zone. Candidates must reside or be willing to support Pacific Time Hours 


  • Farmers offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and location
  • CO Only: The pay range for this job being performed in CO would be 90,800 -121,000
