Job Summary

Assist the Director and/or Head of Compliance in evaluating systems, policies, and processes to assure compliance with State and Federal information/data security laws and regulations. Additionally, the Consultant will:

 

  • Build and maintain relationships with a wide network of Business and Information Technology stakeholders, and advocate for compliance activities.

  • Act as an information security risk and compliance Subject Matter Expert for the Compliance Department.

  • Lead compliance reviews of cyber programs and projects. Track audit findings and recommendations to ensure appropriate mitigation actions are taken.

  • Partner with various assurance teams to confirm there are not redundancies or gaps in legal and regulatory information security compliance reviews.

  • Provide periodic information security risk assessments to Compliance Leadership.

  •  Prepare reports for Executive and Business Unit Leadership teams.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides collaborative leadership and works closely with BU to resolve high exposure compliance issues.
  • Coordinates compliance project work including those that are cross-functional and complex.
  • Prepares reports and follows up on high exposure issues that may exist within the projects.
  • Works with BU to ensure that projects are deployed in a manner that is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides support to the Director and/or Head of Compliance in the development and implementation of risk assessments, annual compliance plan and compliance reviews of operational processes.
  • Assures risk assessments and plans are updated as needed.
  • Reviews the results of risk assessment and quality assurance reviews performed by the operating units.
  • Reviews market conduct exam reports and/or agency investigations issued on the various Farmers lines of business to identify and evaluate potential compliance issues that may exist within the operation.
  • Performs trend analysis and works with the operating units to address repeat criticism areas.
  • Directs the review and monitoring of new laws and regulation impacting BU.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the action items and compliance log, and for follow up to assure resolution to compliance issues.
  • Prepares and presents analysis, trends, and reports to senior management, and ensures that corrective action is taken on issues reported.
  • Advocate for compliance-related issues, including allocation of IT capacity.
  • Actively participates in BU meetings to ensure adequate prioritization of resources.
  • Prepares Executive Leadership reporting BU reporting as assigned.
  • The reports provide status and proactive analysis to identify trends, issues and compliance risks.
  • Leads forum or practice group within Compliance to exchange best practices, coordinate compliance initiatives, discuss new legislation and ensure compliance consistency across compliance groups.
  • Directs the development and implementation of compliance training and awareness campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

7 years with company , or similar industry experience, including 3 years in line of business or compliance

Completion of, or actively pursuing, at least 1 industry related, audit or compliance related or comparable designation

Special Skill Requirement

  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication
  • Strong PC skills including familiarity with MS Office and database applications
  • Strong project management, time management, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Subject matter expertise in technical and organizational information security including application security, infrastructure security, network security, identity and access management, information security management systems, and data protection/privacy.

  • CO Only: The pay range for this job being performed in CO would be $92,720-$123,600
