Job Summary

  •   As the Reinsurance Technical Manager/Lead, you will be responsible for delivering the technical solution through proper implementation and development of projects within the Reinsurance Segment.
  • The individual will work closely with the Software Development team, Business Analysis, and Business to understand the requirements, formulate technical specifications, and work with our Sapiens Product vendor partners to deliver those requirements. 
  • The role is responsible for providing delivery oversight, including technology implementation approaches and Resource Management , for effectively providing the most optimal solution for the business.  
  • The incumbent will be an experienced, dynamic, multidimensional professional who is strategic, technology-savvy, and skilled in technical strategy and operational efficiencies.
  • Validates suppliers estimates; Performs analysis of changes across multiple systems and provides Rough Order of Magnitude.
  • Reviews and validates the detailed technical strategy for business applications provided by the supplier.
  • This person should make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and rapidly changing environment.    


Essential Job Functions


Understands customers’ processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the business unit Reviews and validates the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; 


  • Responsible for the success of Subject Matter Experts by continuous coaching and feedback.
  • Monitor all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support service levels.
  • Produce technical specifications and design documents as required.
  • Manage the technical landscape of applications and interfaces.
  • Design easy-to-use programmer interfaces and tools that other developers will leverage.
  • Create, design, and implement technology solutions for business requirements.
  • Help with production support when required.
  • Responsible for the success of Subject Matter Experts by continuous coaching and feedback.
  • Work with leadership on delivery, governance, and resource constraint issues.
  • Update and review global development standards, processes and strategies, and configuration standards and processes.
  • Review and approve Development deliverables included in vendor statements of work.
  • Work/collaborate with external vendors, including on-shore and offshore resources.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.

Experience Requirements


8 years of experience in Major Project Implementations / People Manager /Leading small to large teams. 

•    Re-insurance related systems knowledge.
•    At least 7+ years of rigorous application development and hands-on experience using Microsoft technologies stack.
•    At least 7+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server.
•    In-depth understanding of the multi-tiers application, Informatica ETL, cloud computing, and database design.
•    In-depth experience in defects and enhancement management.
•    In-depth experience with product/application development lifecycle.
•    Proficiency in UI design & business process design.
•    Experience working with authentication and authorization.
•    Proficient in working with large data and SQL Server.
•    SAPIENS Reinsurance Package experience is a plus. 
•    Able to convey technical concepts in layman’s terms.
•    Building PowerBI Dashboards experience is a plus. 
•    Experience working in an onsite and offshore resourcing model.


  • Farmers offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and location
  • Colorado Only: The pay range for this job being performed in CO would be 104,560-139,100
