Senior Business Solutions and Data Analyst

About the role...

• Partners with business teams to design and implement basic data and analytics-centric and value-added systems and solutions that enable business outcomes.
• Projects are of limited complexity.
• Performs work independently or with coaching and guidance, depending on task complexity.

What you'll accomplish...

• Develops basic value-based analytics solutions for quality, business process functionality, or other strategic/data/analytic initiatives of limited complexity.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and establish analytics requirements.
• Creates detailed documentation and business plans that address stakeholder needs.
• Liaises between IT, Program Management and Business teams for analytics models and data solutions.
• Trusted business partner working with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify key challenges and work on resolutions with the goal of improving organizational performance.
• Develops and implements basic enterprise-wide data integration strategies that utilize various data-marts and data warehouse applications to enhance reporting.
• Continuously works to improve data platforms, dashboards, and reports to meet emerging and changing business demands and guidelines.
• Consults with guidance on UAT, technical specifications, strategic planning, contract design, technical support, testing updates, and trainings.
• Manages data from single sources and uses project management skills to complete simple projects with coaching and guidance.
• Transmits data and proactively works to ensure data quality.
• Troubleshoots data issues and devises creative and effective ways to avoid or mitigate issues.
• Uses basic understanding of data elements, structures, standards typically involved in financial services transactions, reporting, and cloud-based data storage/sharing to adopt and apply standards in a way that satisfies and balances regulatory and compliance requirements with business needs.

Physical actions...

• Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location.
• The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation.
• Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions.
• Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift.

• Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects.
• Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace.

Education needed...

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields preferred.

Experience needed...

• 1-2 years of related work experience required.
• Experience in Financial Services industry preferred.

• Demonstrated technical skills in MS Excel/Access, programming (SQL), data visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau) and statistical analysis.
