Job Summary
The Sr. Data Governance Advisor position supports Claims and enterprise partners by advising on compliance risks, designing assurance approaches, and shaping governance for data‑driven and technology‑enabled solutions. The position requires judgment, consultative influence, and the ability to translate data, privacy, security, and emerging technology risks into practical governance and oversight. Specifically, this position will focus on the following:
- Compliance advisory: provide advice on compliance risks and partner with cross-functional teams to frame risk tradeoffs and control expectations
- Assurance and oversight design: design assurance methodologies for claims applications, atuomations, and analytics and translate regulatory and policy requirements into testable controls and monitoring approaches
- Governance framework development: assisting with defining governance models for user-driven solutions, as well as establishing guardrails, accountability, and transparency expectations
- Capability-building: assisting with developing governance and data risk skills in others and creating reusable standards, guidance, and frameworks
Essential Job Functions
- Delivers specific data governance tasks such as cataloging, profiling, and defining with limited guidance from people leader.
- Works with multiple business areas or governance capabilities and assists/coordinates planning activities.
- Utilizes familiarity with more complex governance concepts and may serve as an expert in a few with practical implementation experience.
- Uses moderate knowledge and understanding of leading edge technologies, reporting and visualization concepts to present to limited IT and business partners.
- Details required project tasks by writing a RACI and/or RAPID matrix and roadmap.
- Presents material in cross functional meetings, addressing issues independently.
- Utilizes advanced understanding of data modeling principles, data governance, strategy and data management to execute on mid to large sized complex tasks within timelines.
- Develops data project plans and executes independently.
- Independently writes comprehensive data governance standards and policies at the enterprise level.
- Effectively communicates and applies data governance value, concepts, and strategies across multiple scenarios.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience Requirements
5-7 years of related experience required.
Preferred experience:
- Compliance, risk management, governance, or audit experience with data or technology exposure
- Experience advising or consulting in regulated environments
- Experience in information risk, privacy, or operational risk functions
