Job Summary
This position owns the research, development, and design of more complex initiatives to enhance innovation and optimize process efficiency, resource utilization, quality, accuracy, and customer service within the department. It acts as a subject matter specialist in process development and continuous improvement to provide guidance and business optimization support to internal and external business partners. The role collaborates with senior leadership and key business partners to develop and implement solutions focused on customers, people, processes, and technology. The position performs data analysis to provide in-depth insights on business performance, success metrics, and the competitive landscape. Performs work independently while receiving minimal guidance. This role will primarily support the Premium Audit organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Evaluates business processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develops, designs and recommends innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Monitors the performance of implemented solutions to ensure effectiveness and identify further improvement opportunities.
- Acts as a business optimization consultant to lead or contribute to assigned initiatives.
- Consults with senior leaders and key business partners to gather requirements, understand needs, and ensure successful integration of business optimization solutions.
- Leads implementation of medium to large initiatives from start to finish by evaluating tasks, determining priorities, assessing and addressing issues or risks, communicating progress updates, and ensuring deliverables are met in a timely manner.
- Aligns initiatives with business objectives.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of key business factors to identify potential issues or risks associated with proposed changes by analyzing their impact on existing processes, workflows, systems, and stakeholders. Develops and recommends mitigation strategies to address them.
- Conducts retrospectives on implemented changes to provide feedback and lessons learned to improve business optimization functions within the department and across the organization.
- Thoroughly analyzes data and leverages it to tell a story around the results of an initiative.
- Develops strategies to influence stakeholders and secure their support and commitment.
- Performs data analysis and prepares progress reports.
- May present analysis to senior leadership and key business partners.
- Coordinates with existing vendors to ensure service level agreements are met, address vendor-related inquiries, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, support product changes, or contribute to roadmap development.
- Performs outreach to new vendors within prescribed authority limits.
- Utilizes robust decision-making frameworks to evaluate new technology and vendor offerings against business requirements.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to determine the business impact of possible changes and new technologies.
- Stays informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in business optimization to recommend and implement innovative solutions. Attends conferences, seminars, and demonstrations as approved to enhance knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of experience required in business optimization or a related field, with experience leading initiatives and facilitating organizational change.
- Experience in project or program management is preferred.
- Experience leading teams, directly or indirectly, through successful project or initiative execution is preferred.
