Workplace: Hybrid ( #LI-Hybrid ), Remote ( #LI-Remote ) - depending on candidate location.

About the role...

  • This position will support the Business Insurance team by directly leading:
    • The Filing Implementation team (approximately 9-15 employees) in the creation and submission of form/rate/rule filings with Departments of Insurance
    • The Forms Development team (approximately 3-5 employees) in the creation and maintenance of coverage forms used by Business Insurance
  • This position will prioritize projects, identify process improvements, advocate team initiatives, manage workflow and capacity, and develop success metrics
  • This position will ensure appropriate training, continuity planning, and consultative expertise across the team and to business partners
  • Successful candidates will have a strong ability to lead others, a willingness to learn and develop detailed processes, and actively pursue continuous improvement.

What you'll accomplish...

  • Lead, mentor, manage, and develop a team of forms and filing analysts
  • Develop strategic direction for process, improvement opportunities, and defined performance metrics
  • Assign workloads, set priorities, and track team performance outcomes
  • Maintain procedures and best practices for forms development, forms testing, and filing implementation
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, team structure, and tools to enhance the efficiency and ongoing quality of work
  • Leads and conducts competitor analysis with a focus on forms and filing strategies to identify broader market trends, gaps, and long-term opportunities.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to guide product development according to business unit plans.  This includes Product, State, Legal, Claims, Compliance, Underwriting, and IT partners.
  • Evaluates coverage structures and product forms to ensure they address market demands while integrating risk management practices.
  • Manages customer experience journeys by tailoring products to meet customer needs and simplifying interactions across touchpoints and platforms.
  • Aligns stakeholders for more complex projects and new product rollouts.
  • Leads communication with regulatory authorities to address more complex insurance product matters and ensure compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location.
  • Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.

Education needed...

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience needed...

  • 5+ years of experience with forms development and/or state filing implementation
  • 3+ years of experience leading people

Special skills needed...

  • Technical subject matter expert in forms management and/or filing implementation
  • Experience with SERFF filing application, workflow management tools, and Excel proficiency (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Priority will be given to candidates with the following:
    • Extensive insurance industry knowledge
    • Commercial lines insurance experience
    • Prior leadership roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
