Job Summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking a Technology Auditor to support high‑quality technology audits as part of our transformation to a modern, risk‑focused Internal Audit function. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, with primary responsibility for technology control testing, evidence evaluation, and audit documentation across IT and cyber risk areas.

What You'll Do

  • Lead discussions with technology and business stakeholders to understand the objectives, processes, systems, data flows, key risks, and control environment associated with the area under review, and challenge assumptions where necessary.
  • Independently identify and assess technology risks, evaluate key controls, and help shape audit scope, testing strategies, and evidence requirements using a risk-based approach.
  • Execute technology audits across cybersecurity, identity and access management, applications, cloud, infrastructure, data, and emerging technology domains.
  • Perform stakeholder discussions, evaluate process and control design, and identify gaps, inconsistencies, or emerging risks by asking effective "why" and "how" questions.
  • Gather, evaluate, and challenge the completeness, reliability, and relevance of evidence obtained through interviews, system reports, configurations, logs, tickets, analytics, and other audit procedures.
  • Apply professional judgment and skepticism throughout the audit by assessing whether evidence supports management's assertions and investigating anomalies, exceptions, and conflicting information.
  • Own assigned audit areas from planning through reporting, proactively managing activities, stakeholder requests, dependencies, and timelines while escalating risks and blockers promptly.
  • Work in iterative audit cycles, continuously reassessing risks, adjusting testing approaches, and incorporating feedback as new information emerges.
  • Prepare high-quality workpapers that clearly document procedures performed, evidence reviewed, judgments applied, and conclusions reached in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and quality standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop audit issues by determining root causes, assessing business and technology impacts, validating facts with stakeholders, and recommending practical corrective actions.
  • Clearly communicate risks, observations, and audit conclusions to stakeholders at various levels, translating technical issues into business-relevant risk implications.
  • Participate actively in audit team reviews, challenge sessions, showcases, and quality discussions, providing constructive challenge to strengthen audit outcomes.
  • Leverage approved analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve audit effectiveness, insight generation, and efficiency while maintaining accountability for audit conclusions.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of remediation activities and validate that corrective actions appropriately address underlying risks and root causes.
  • Continuously expand expertise in technology, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, audit methodology, risk management, and industry practices through ongoing learning and professional development.
