Job Summary

Farmers Group (Warwick, RI) seeks a Senior Research Consultant to work in the research area within the Countrywide Product Management department to develop and implement advanced analytics and predictive modeling solutions to improve business processes, generate insights, and support business goals and strategy development, using enterprise-caliber data science tools and predictive and statistical models; perform datamining from various sources, identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged to improve product, validate data accuracy, and verify data quality to ensure consistent use across the business; develop, deploy and maintain predictive models and monitor model performance to identify opportunities to improve business profitability and operational efficiency across Property & Casualty business; collaborate with stakeholders in different functions to define data collection and analysis requirements and establish adequate business understanding to provide effective analysis. Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and cloud services to further strengthen business. Develop new modeling techniques and tools for analytics and reporting. Option to work remotely is available.


Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, or a closely related field of study, plus 2 years in the job offered, or similar positions performing descriptive data analysis, statistical analysis, and data processing. Must have 2 years of experience performing descriptive data analysis, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data processing. Specific experience must include: performing descriptive, statistical and predictive data analysis to address real business problems; implementing new programs and initiatives, using SQL, SAS, Python, and R; processing large datasets from different sources for reporting; and working  with the following software: Tower Watson Radar,  ArcGIS and IBM SPSS Modeler. Option to work remotely is available.
