Workplace: Remote ( #LI-Remote ) but must be in the Iowa area in order to meet with Farmers Agents and other stakeholders in person. This position comes with a company car.

 

About the role...

Collaborates with agency owners in assigned territory to help them achieve business objectives.

Implements and manages strategic initiatives for assigned territory.

Works with agents to drive sales growth and profitability across all lines of business through agency production.

Consults with agents to introduce and implement strategies, initiatives, and practices that enhance agency operations.

Performs work independently without considerable direction or guidance.

What you'll accomplish...

Consults with agents to identify issues, opportunities, and action plans for optimizing agency operations and productivity.

Uses expert knowledge to provide ideas and tips for improving sales, customer experience, marketing, and promotions.

Conducts in-person and virtual consultations.

Builds strong relationships with agency owners to collaborate and align territory and company objectives.

Partners with agents to implement strategic business plans, including market segmentation strategies.

Responsible for ensuring agency sales and production objectives are met.

Manages territory footprint by analyzing the market, planning strategically, allocating resources, monitoring performance, implementing sales and business plans, consulting with agents and Home Office, and coordinating training opportunities.

Conducts market research and provides data-driven insights to agents.

Participates in recruiting new agents.

Coordinates with territory leadership and Home Office to source, select, license, onboard, and train new agency owners.

Manages agency start-up activities to meet growth and production objectives.

Performs agent appointments and terminations.

Investigates and resolves escalated issues received from agents.

Collaborates with internal stakeholders including underwriting, marketing, customer service and others to ensure seamless product de livery, easy customer experience, and timely resolution of issues.

Uses technology to analyze performance metrics and optimize district and agency diagnostics.

Recommends adjustments or implements corrective actions as needed.

Prepares and presents reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical actions...

This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

Education needed...

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelors degree preferred.

Property & Casualty, Life, Health, 6, 63 and 26 Securities licenses (must be secured within a year of starting in the role).

Experience needed...

7-10 years of experience in sales leadership required, with extensive knowledge of insurance products and field distribution models.

Property & Casualty insurance or financial services sales experience.

Experience onboarding new agency owners and staff.

Special skills needed...

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to secure 'buy-in' and convince others regarding best approach.
Goal oriented team player with a positive attitude.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong relationship building.
