Job Summary

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Dev Team Member IV to design, develop, test and/or deploy system functionality and support systems such as Service Request Management, Foremost STAR, Duck Creek, and Express that are used by the call center reps to service agents and customers. Specific duties include: support business in building a lead business case and breaking epics into features; break down features and write and refine user stories; perform broad and detailed impact assessments relating people, processes and/or technology to evaluate work; provide expertise in the solution design and functionality of business applications; identify and raise issues and risks with functional design and offer alternative solutions; conduct research, design, and prototyping using technologies; analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling; analyze and make recommendations on the need for system backup, restart/recovery, balancing and controls; code instructions for computer programs/objects/components in multiple applications; configure packaged software; quality check program code, related objects and documentation; support implementation activities, troubleshoot user/system environmental issues and training; research and develop techniques for automation; provide input in the development of application quality and testing standards and best practices; plan work via the preparation for and participation in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Sprint Planning; and participate in on-going and scheduled backlog refinement sessions. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or similar position. Must have 7 years of experience with each of the following: system analysis, design, application development, implementation, and support; programming in Microsoft .Net, Angular, C#, VB .NET, JavaScript, Gosu and MS SQL server; test planning, data preparation, execution, defect tracking and deploying code fixes; and production deployments, supporting implementation activities, troubleshooting production issues, identifying root cause, and delivering code fixes. Also, must have 4 years of experience in developing applications using Microsoft .Net, C# and JavaScript to automate back-office processes. Additionally, specific experience must include: working in an agile environment utilizing test driven development approach to deliver and demonstrate working code in each sprint to product owners; documenting system analysis, design, and complex requirements; working with waterfall, iterative and onshore-offshore delivery models; and working on projects in P&C Insurance. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.
