Job Summary

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Developer IV to contribute to the development, design, testing, and deployment of system functionality. Specific duties include: demonstrate customer needs by interpreting into viable solutions and contribute to the system design; write and refine user stories; perform broad and detailed impact assessments; identify and raise issues and risks with functional design and offer alternative solutions; provide expertise in the solution design and functionality of business applications; execute Test-Driven (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to build in quality; support implementation activities, troubleshoot user/system environmental issues and training; work with the Product Owner to confirm the code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality; code instructions for computer programs/objects/components in multiple applications; configure packaged software; analyze and evaluate existing manual and computerized systems/procedures to improve efficiency; document and implement programs; quality checks program code, related objects and documentation; deliver working code each sprint; analyze and make recommendations on the need for system backup, security, restart/recovery, balancing and controls; analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling; review and validate application technical design of team members; research and develop techniques for automation and innovative ideas and results; and serve as SME for Agency Commissions production support, environment setup for new incoming projects, and leading implementation of the automation pipelines. Position requires AWS Cloud Practitioner and DB2 Database Associate certifications. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. for professional conferences. Option to work remotely with required travel to local offices as needed, if within 50 miles of remote worksite.

 

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as an Assistant Consultant, or similar position contributing to the development, design, testing, and deployment of system functionality. Must have 7 years of experience working in the of P&C Insurance industry. Additionally, must have 7 years of experience working with each of the following: COBOL; JCL; EasyTrieve; DB2; VSAM; WinSCP; ServiceNow; Endeavor; Dynatrace; AppDynamics; FTP/SFTP conversions; and MS Windows. Must also have 3 years of experience working with each of the following: SAP; MS SQL; Java; and UNIX. Must be certified AWS Cloud Practitioner and DB2 Database Associate. Must be willing to travel within the U.S. for professional conferences. Option to work remotely with required travel to local offices as needed, if within 50 miles of remote worksite.
