Business Operations and Strategy Director - New Ventures

Job Summary

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Business Operations and Strategy Director - New Ventures responsible for growing existing lines of business and new standalone products for next generation consumers. Specific duties include: assist in setting up the annual and long-term strategy and goals for the New Ventures group; perform strategic analysis to determine launch and expansion of the business; evaluate potential business partnerships and technology platforms; act as a liaison along with Head of New Ventures to various internal support functions, such as CXO, Digital, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Internal Audit and Procurement; analyze trends in the industry and among competitors to develop proposals, business case and internal and external presentations; conduct analyses of competitive and technological trends to determine new businesses areas that the New Ventures group could pursue; conduct daily scrums and drive the removal of barriers to ensure the highest level of execution; work across the larger organization on structure and processes to help move quickly and efficiently; build out the wealth management ecosystem; develop process design, identify key metrics, and implement the new design; and work with New Venture teams on reporting key results such as revenue updates, and other metrics to keep the teams aligned with overall goal. Position requires Lean or Six Sigma certification. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.

 

Position requires a 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Finance, Political Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Manager, Managing Director - Strategy, Director of Operations and Transformation, Vice President, or similar progressive experience in business, insurance, or financial services industry. Must have 5 years of experience in operations management and 5 years of experience in a strategic role developing and executing business strategies. Specific experience must also include: working as a scrum master on agile teams; working with start-ups in the Insurtech or Fintech space; participating in the vendor selection process for the procurement of a commodity, service, or valuable asset; building financial models and business plans; developing relationships with and presenting to senior executives; managing people; participating in mergers, acquisitions, or investments; driving new business models and technology or business transformation; and launching at least one innovative, customer-centric product or service to market. Must have Lean or Six Sigma certification. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.
