Personal Lines Product Analytics Manager

Job Summary

Strategic partner in driving profitable growth for assigned territory/zone and channel. Manages a team of Product Management Analysts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and train a team of product analysts performing tasks listed below:
  • Conduct and review pricing analysis for assigned product lines and states.
  • Utilize SAS/SQL or other software to extract, manipulate and analyze large sets of data in order to recommend improvements in our product pricing.
  • Analyze indications and other analyses of loss experience, retention, and expense data.
  • Prepare reports to assist territory product in managing their states
  • Perform primary field research, including customer, distribution, competitor, insurance department, and market/premium surveys.
  • Takes leadership role in special projects as assigned.
  • Negotiates and sets priorities to align with Enterprise Strategy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Lead strategic projects in support of Farmers PL Product Strategic priorities. 

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing, and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs maximum, and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in mathematical or statistical field preferred. Masters degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

Mathematical or Statistical experience. At least seven years’ experience in similar role, or Graduate degree and four years’ experience in similar role. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn advanced insurance pricing concepts and insurance terms and structure.

Special Skill Requirement

Proficient PC Skills, including Excel, Access, SQL/SAS, Word and basic programming for statistical purposes.

Experience working with SAS, Python, R, and visualization software such as PowerBI preferred.
