Job Summary
Farmers (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer to be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of products and services across multiple cloud platforms. Specific duties include: ensuring all solutions adhere to established architectural design patterns, governance standards and security controls for moderate configurations; evaluating business needs, defining functional requirements and technical specifications; developing updates or enhancements to cloud-based solutions with limited coaching and support; coaching junior and associate engineers; provisioning infrastructures as code using scripts; performing configuration management; defining and implementing secure networking solutions between on-premise data centers and commercial clouds; working closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure standard solutions and technologies are correctly leveraged by the Cloud Services team; providing oversight and sign-off on the detailed designs produced by service providers; participating in Cloud Updates and Maintenance; serving as subject matter expert advisor to senior IT management; helping the development team navigate through the cloud environment; assisting project managers as well as the business facing team with project onboarding; maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures; and identifying and leading the resolution of highly complex technical problems; monitoring performance and capacity metrics for technology solutions. Position requires quarterly travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely with required travel to local offices as needed, if within 50 miles of remote worksite.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study, 6 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar position responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of products and services. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study, plus 4 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar position responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of products and services. Must have 4 years of experience working with each of the following: Python, Jenkins, and Github. Must also have 3 years of experience working with each of the following: SQL; SQL Server; Tableau; Ansible; SAS; AWS code pipeline; AWS cloud formation; Java; Lambda. Must also have 2 years of experience working with Terraform. Additionally, must have 1 year of experience working in the P&C industry. Specific experience must also include: working with business users to understand the user requirements layout and look and feel of the application to be developed; generating interactive dashboards; managing code in Git repository and Jenkins to automate deployment of builds to different environments; developing Python and shell scripts for automation of the build and release process; engaging in the development of the database connectivity systems; working on workflow rules and approval processes, validation rules, custom objects, security controls, analytics, reports and dashboards, sales and support processes; creating high level test plans for testing in various environments; creating adhoc reports by connecting various data sources; participating in the agile development process; collaborating with program level architecture across organization and creating Jira stories; and designing and developing high performing middle tiers.
