Job Summary   

Provides expertise in the design and functionality of business applications; Understands customers’ business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems; Performs code quality review checks on deliverables; Supports the implementation activities, troubleshooting user/system environmental issues, and training as required. 

 

Participates in Program Increment Planning and creates Team Program Increment Objectives. Collaborates with the Product Owner to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria. Writes/develops the code and creates unit tests and automated acceptance tests. Works with the Product Owner to confirm that the code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality. Conducts research, design, prototyping and other exploration activities as an Agile Dev team. Contributes as agile team member for continuous exploration, continuous integration and continuous deployment practices necessary for building the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and implementing DevOps.

  
Essential Job Functions 
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and help in creating PI Objectives. Collaborate with the Product Owner to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria for a Sprint.
  • Break down the features into user stories and deliver working code in each Sprint. Design and develop code, create unit tests to meet the respective Program Increment objectives. Work with the Product Owner to confirm that the code and acceptance tests reflect the desired functionality.
  • Perform quality review checks on Sprint deliverables. Support resolving production reported issues
  • Support production implementation activities, troubleshoot system environmental issues, and provide training to the Agile team or receive training as required.
  • Contribute as agile team member for continuous exploration, continuous integration and continuous deployment practices necessary for building the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and implementing DevOps.
  • Provides expertise in the design and functionality of business applications; Understands customers’ business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems;
  • Conducts research, design, prototyping and other exploration activities as an Agile Dev team.
  • Supports users in building Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan.

 

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent or specific relevant experience.
  
Experience Requirements: 
  • Level I: 5 years of experience in application development & business / system analysis role.
  • Exposure to working in Agile environment.
  • Experience in Business Insurance policy admin system is a plus.
  • Exposure to Pega 6.X, Pega 7.X is a plus.
  • Exposure to DevOps and knowledge on Selenium framework is a plus.
  • Working experience in Mainframe applications is a plus.
  
Special Skill Requirement:  
  • Certifications: SAFe Agilist.
  • Mainframe online work experience is a must.
  • Experience in Policy admin system is a must.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as an Agile Team member in a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Experience in technical skills: Mainframes - COBOL, CICS, JCL, Pega 6.X, Pega 7.X, IBM DB2, VSAM.
