This position is responsible for supporting corporate citizenship activities and programs in a variety of capacities. Leading and s upporting local volunteer efforts, the Volunteer based Rebuild program will encompass the primary duties of this role. Also included are duties supporting Benevity and the Farmers Family Fund.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinate implementation of Woodland Hills efforts to recruit volunteers, and set up local volunteer activities.
Acts as the main point of contact for all internal team volunteer requests and responsible for matching non-profit activities to employee needs and requests.
Manages relationships with non-profits in the Woodland Hills and Los Angeles area and fully understands and conducts conversations with local non-profits to find appropriate and new volunteer activities.
Researches and evaluates potential new non-profit organizations for Farmers to volunteer wit and is the first point of contact with local non-profits.
Responsible for co-leading and organizing onsite and offsite fundraising and volunteer events.
Responsible for coordinating logistics for 200+ employees traveling to respective disaster sites for corporate rebuild program; works with human resources and other key stakeholders to ensure employees are eligible to participate.
Ongoing communication with employees and managers leading up to departure as well as acts as main point of contact with the national non-profit volunteer lead and local hotel.
Assist with national non-profit program support such as national volunteer coordination, managing workplace pages, etc.
Responsible for pre and post event communications (i.e. raising awareness around activities, capturing pictures and quotes during the event, and posting to Farmers internal sites and (for posting to workplace after event and sharing highlights and pictures)
Update and post news articles in alignment with corporate citizenship activities.
Review and approve pending volunteer opportunities from both internal and external sources.
Review and approve volunteer time submissions from all employees enterprise wide.
Responsible for ad-hoc reporting to line of business contacts and/or corporate citizenship team.
Acts as an internal point of contact for all employees to assist with volunteer page set-up.
Review pending requests in Benevity and confirm supporting documentation and approve or decline as needed.
Responsible for issuing and mailing checks.
Ensuring all pertinent information needed for audits is secured.
Assists with increasing participation to the Farmers Family Fund.
Provide general event support as needed and as assigned.
Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
The following are standard requirements for all positions. When applicable, some positions may have additional requirements essential to a specific job. This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Three years related experience in a corporate environment required. Three years experience in a nonprofit position, preferably in a Corporate Social Responsibility program development and/or volunteerism preferred.
