Application Test Specialist IV*

Job Description

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Application Test Specialist IV to develop test plans to include test scenarios, objectives, test cases and data, as well as quality criteria and measurement techniques. Specific duties include: validates acceptance criteria and ensures application adheres to quality and functional requirements; provides guidance on the development of test plans and usage of testing tools to Levels I and II Testing Specialist; oversees workflow and work distribution within testing area and meeting of departmental service levels; reviews test results and performs root cause analysis and troubleshooting to address issues; conducts in depth analysis of testing processes and methodologies and develops new/revised standards, as necessary; analyzes system and business requirements for testability; reports status of test plan execution through defect logs / defect tracking system; ensures that acceptance criteria are met; assists with resolution of environmental issues; supports application development, implementation, and user training activities, as required; analyzes test results; assists with troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.  


Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in the job offered, as a Programmer Analyst, System Analyst, or similar role working with application testing. Experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: working in the insurance industry; test automation tools including Selenium, LoadRunner, Quick Test Pro, UFT, Cucumber, HP ALM, Java, SQL, DB2, Oracle; and SDLC methodologies including Agile (SAFE and Scrum). Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience leading multiple teams including experience dealing with an onsite/offshore model and working in both Waterfall and Agile environments. Experience must also include: leading large projects that include white box, black box, performance/load testing as well as downstream/LSIT validation with external teams; working with personal and commercial insurance lines in the areas of call centers and claim processing; working with claim centers in the area of Reserving, Negotiation and Settlement; working with computer telephony integrations (CTI); and Siebel Open UI.
