Seen as a trusted advisor to clients by taking ownership in servicing multiple small to medium size non-agent Business Insurance accounts over approximately $100+ million which include moderate to high complexity. Effectively manages business relationships with assigned new and existing clients by building strong partnerships with client contacts and placing a focus on business growth. Responsible for coordinating the delivery of work from all parties involved while effectively removing impediments and resolving issues. Manages assigned accounts to generate profitable growth for the business by retaining existing clients, expanding current business relationships and achieving a positive customer experience.
Essential Job Functions
Oversees the strategic management of an assigned book of business, including the development of customer specific business plans to identify opportunities to retain and profitably grow the Commercial book of business while delivering value added services. Takes ownership to develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels. Works closely with clients to advises them on how to make sound recommendations to their portfolio, answer policy related questions, and solve for issues arising from various challenges. Designs, prepares, negotiates and delivers fee/compensation agreements to clients, as needed. Collaborates with internal partners, including Underwriting, Product, Legal, Compliance and Claims to effectively manage new and existing business accounts, resolve service issues, and provide consultative support. Proactively places focus on building and maintaining strong business relationships with external clients, including executives, in order to provide exclusive concierge style service. Serves as a single point on contact for escalated client issues and is responsible for resolving such concerns. Coordinates with internal partners to perform risk analysis, which include exposure and coverage reviews, to properly insure the risk to the business. Communicates new insurance programs to clients and offers recommendations for coverage options to expand existing business opportunities which promote growth. Manages cadence of delivery for self and team to ensure relevant information is available to analyze client exposure, make recommendations, and deliver final proposals to line of business executives. Develops material to reflect account overview, trends, exposures and risks in order to conduct regular presentations to internal and external partners. Provides solutions to increase growth, retention and financial performance. Builds strong partnerships with client in order to stay inform ed of their changing business needs and corporate landscape to identify opportunities for enhancement and/or growth. Evaluates new industry developments that have a potential business impact and investigates opportunities to enhance business practices to adapt to market changes. Executes on opportunities to develop business and client growth. May collaborate with internal partners to help secure new business through referral opportunities and present data insights to expand service. Uses experience and expertise to contribute to ongoing process improvement activities. Provides mentorship and guidance to lower level professionals. Performs other duties as assigned.
Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
Bachelor's degree required.
5-7 years insurance related experience in Product, Underwriting and/or Claims required. 5-7 years experience in client management within insurance industry preferred.
