The Claims Business Manager I will perform complex claims operational data analysis requiring an advanced understanding of the business and analytical skills. The position may be responsible for supporting a department, functional area or may assist with the entire line of business, and may also include supervisory responsibility. The Claims Business Manager I will be the subject matter expert in own area. Participates in special projects as requested by management. The position will work closely with Sr. field leaders in own department to set and implement strategy. The position would report to a Claims Business Manager II or III.
We are seeking candidates with at least eight years of professional analytics experience doing actionable data analysis and reporting. Should have experience connecting to the different database systems such as Oracle or SQL Server and be able to leverage analytical technologies such as SQL, Tableau, and Alteryx.
Essential Job Functions
Performs complex Analysis/Forecasting for the leadership of the department, functional area or the business managers from multiple perspectives.
Draws sound and timely conclusions from the information available requiring more advanced understanding of financial, indemnity, expense, objectives, key performance indicators, personnel, operations and strategic planning.
Provides complex routine or ad hoc reporting involving multiple perspectives and using multiple reporting platforms/data sources to the leadership of the department or functional area they support or to the Business Managers Responsible for individual special projects.
May contribute to work of other project teams.
May have supervisory responsibilities for lower level Clams Business team members.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of, or actively pursing a major insurance or financial designation.
External candidates should have a minimum of six years of prior industry or related experience. The same time-on-job requirement is preferred for internal candidates. Leadership experience is preferred.
Special Skill Requirement
Demonstrated advanced analytical and reporting skills. Technically advanced in using Microsoft Excel, Finance and Business Reporting Systems and developing competency in PowerPoint
