Farmers Insurance Exchange (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Enterprise Data Scientist II to provide statistical analysis, modeling, and visualization services for all Farmers lines of business and all shared service functions. Specific duties include: design innovative analytic models; responsible for pulling and cleaning datasets, evaluating models, and presenting results to internal teams and business leaders to demonstrate the business value of each project; work closely with business clients to identify project opportunities and clarify analytic requirements; extract data from a variety of sources (databases, web, text files) and in a variety of formats (structured, unstructured, JSON, Parquet, etc.) and prepare the data for analysis; describe data using qualitative and quantitative aggregation/summarization and build tools (static reports, interactive dashboards, web applications) that allow clients to easily view and understand important patterns and trends in the data; provide quantitative comparisons of data points using advanced statistical analysis including data reduction techniques (PCA, clustering), resampling (permutation tests, Monte Carlo testing) as well as traditional statistical hypothesis testing; construct and validate predictive models using a variety of techniques and implement served results directly into business processes. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S.
Position requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistical Computing, or related scientific or quantitative field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Predictive Analyst, Actuarial Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar advanced analytics position. Position requires 5 years of experience or coursework with: R, Python, Scala, or Julia; SQL and relational databases; GLMs; Cluster Analyses; Decision Trees; and Ensemble Methods. Position also requires 3 years of experience or coursework with Neural Networks and cloud computing services (AWS). Must also have 2 years of experience or coursework with: PCA; PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, or D3.js.; and SalesForce, Google Analytics, or Social Media data. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S.
