Job Summary 
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships for multiple small-to-medium sized non-agent Business Insurance accounts ranging from basic to moderate complexity valued up to approximately $100 million.

  • Manages relationships with new and existing assigned clients, builds strong partnerships with business contacts, focuses on business growth and resolving client issues/concerns.

  • Manages accounts to generate profitable growth by retaining existing clients, expanding business and achieving a positive customer experience.

  • Serves as the primary interface for Commercial products and services and proactively provides suggested solutions to clients.

  • Coordinates the delivery of work from all parties involved with limited support while effectively removing impediments and resolving issues. 

Essential Job Functions 
  • Oversees the strategic management of an assigned book of business, including the development of customer specific business plans to identify opportunities to retain and profitably grow business while delivering value added services.

  • Develops and monitors client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels. Works closely with clients to answer policy related questions, solve for issues, provide pertinent data and other related requests.

  • Designs, prepares, negotiates and delivers fee/compensation agreements to clients, as needed. Places focus on building relationships with external business clients, including executives, in order to provide exclusive concierge style service.

  • Collaborates with internal partners, including Underwriting, Product, Legal,

  • Compliance and Claims to successfully manage new and existing business accounts, resolve service inquires, and provide consultative support.

  • Serves as a point for escalated client issues and concerns.

  • Exposes clients to new insurance programs and makes recommendations for coverage options to expand existing business and provide clients with best coverage options.

  • Coordinates with internal partners to perform risk analyses, including exposure and coverage reviews, to properly assess risk.

  • Manages resources for self and team to ensure relevant information is available to analyze client exposure, to make recommendations, and to deliver final product.

  • Conducts presentations regularly to internal and external partners relating to account reviews, trends, exposures and risks.

  • Stays up-to-date on clients' changing business needs and corporate landscape to identify opportunities for enhancement and/or growth.

  • Evaluates new industry developments that have a potential business impact and investigates opportunities to enhance business practices to adapt to market changes.

  • May collaborate with internal partners to help secure new business through referral opportunities and data insights to expand service.

  • Uses experience and expertise to contribute to ongoing process improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Physical Actions 

Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.  

Physical Environment 

This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. 

Education Requirements 

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Experience Requirements 

3-5 years insurance related experience in Product, Underwriting and/or Claims required. 3-5 years experience in client management within insurance industry preferred.
