Job Summary 


Are you a seasoned IT professional with strong background in managing Cloud and On-Premise IT Infrastructure projects?  Farmers Life is looking for an IT Infrastructure Technical Lead who will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects to modernize our technology platforms. These projects include migrating on premise SQL and Windows Servers to 2016, implementing new workflow tools, deploying software patches, and improving performance and reliability for services provided by Farmers Life to our internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate has strong analysis skills, is organized, builds strong trust based relationships, has an eye for details.  Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and consistently convey complex technical requirements while being able to translate the activities into concepts that non-technical users can relate to.  The projects will be delivered through suppliers and employee teams. The candidate must demonstrate a history of delivering through others, including managing remote workers. In addition to technical direction, the IT Infrastructure Lead will ensure processes and standards are in place to ensure work and quality meets the required standards.

  
Manages a small group of staff with standard tasks; Plans and controls day to day project tasks and budgets; Adheres to IT governance; Manages relationship with immediate environment, enabling commitment; Works with business unit to define needs and arranges appropriate resources; Coordinates delivery of work from all suppliers for a small scale or sub-project, facilitating issue resolution, reviews/approves vendor invoices; Accountable for development of work orders/cost estimates to/from suppliers, Acceptance Criteria, and User Acceptance Testing; Responsible for project level planning, monitoring and reporting. 
  
Essential Job Functions 
  
Key Tasks for M1: People Focus: Leads a very small group of specialists who perform standard tasks. Carries out managerial tasks such as resource management, development, talent management, performance management, compensation, retention, replacement and termination Planning + Controlling: Oversees the planning and controlling of a single task / project on a day-to-day basis including project budget Business Results: Develops project concepts, creates plans and oversees implementation of business solutions of simple to moderate complexity Governance: Adheres to organizational governance Relationship Management: Interacts with business and IT partners within the immediate environment to foster commitment and teamwork Position Specific: Key Tasks for Position Level I: Coordinates delivery of work from all suppliers involved in a small scale / sub-project; Facilitates issue resolution; Reviews and approves vendor invoices/expenditures Works with business unit to define critical business needs and arranges appropriate resources Is accountable for work request evaluation and authorization, development and submission of work orders, as well as review of cost estimates from the suppliers Is accountable for Acceptance Criteria and execution of Acceptance Testing at program level Is responsible for project level planning, monitoring and reporting on project performance Signs off on project deliverables; Performs internal project close down; Conducts Post-Implementation Reviews Liaisons with the Application Architecture team, ISP, third parties, as necessary Performs as the team lead / supervisor, where assigned 

  • Work with the project team to translate project goals into specific hardware / software requirements.

  • Break down complex technical activities into measurable work.

  • Design, build, and test solutions within required specifications.

  • Communicate status to the team and be able to measure progress for work streams you own.

  • Deliver the right balance of quality, performance, and security while encouraging others to rise to the same standard.

  • Procure software, services, and hardware required to implement the solution.

  • Interface with suppliers and internal support groups to ensure successful delivery of the infrastructure to support the project objectives.

  • Provide technical guidance for monitoring information systems operations.

  • Create high performance solutions, and establish protocols to ensure that these are tested.

  • Measure and Motivate teams and suppliers while driving performance.

  • Manage estimates, SOWs, and SLAs with suppliers.
  • Interact and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to arrive at the best solution.

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a network or systems administrator with cloud.

Preferred
  • High availability solution design
  • Automated Testing for non-functional requirements

  • Systems Architecture design
  • Experience with Document centric workflow systems like FileNet

  • Demonstrated mastery of core ITIL and or DevOps practices

  • Able to describe and apply core and advanced networking concepts including SDN.

  • Experience with TFS, SalesForce, Mulesoft, F5, AWS, EMC, Linux, and Windows.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience. 
  
Experience Requirements 
  
Level I: 3 years of experience in an IT environment 
  
Special Skill Requirement 
  
Excellent written and oral communication skills in local language May require occasional traveling regionally or globally Level-1: Able to give information in English and passively participate in team meetings. Understands routine business conversations and letters and is able to communicate with few errors.
